About PVA WA

WHAT WE DO

Partners of Veterans WA is an independent association which offers membership to current and former spouses, partners, widows and widowers of Australian War Veterans, Peacemakers and Peacekeepers who are seeking the support of others and/or are willing to offer support to others in a similar situation, or who just want to share an occasional cuppa and chat.

The Association is committed to offering this support through its network of Circles of Friends, The Daisy Chain Newsletter and website. The Association endeavours to offer more practical assistance by way of educating members and promoting issues faced by the partners and families of veterans.

Our Motto for 2014 is: Friendship, Loyalty, Peace, Happiness, Contentment.

The centrepiece of our Logo, is a black swan, the State emblem for WA, surrounded by a chain of daisies. The daisy represents each of us, but we are separate and may become scattered. When you combine all the daisies into a chain we become stronger and more united. So the chain of daisies represents Unity and Loyalty.

We keep in contact with our members through our regular newsletter (the Daisy Chain), through Circles of Friends, and by visits to country centres. We attend the Back To The Bush reunion at Bruce Rock each year, at which we hold a meeting, have a craft stall at the Saturday Markets, and participate in the march and the Church service.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Partners of Veterans Association of WA Inc (Partners of Veterans WA) aims to improve the lives of members by providing care, support and information in a participative environment.

We aim to ease the isolation despair and loneliness from the lives of partners of veterans through being helpful, uplifting and non-judgemental friends.

BACKGROUND

The Partners of Veterans Association Western Australia (PVAWA) has been assisting the partners of military veterans since May 2003. We were registered as a Charitable Institution in 2005, and were endorsed as a deductible Gift recipient in 2009.

Membership of PVAWA is open to all partners of Australian veterans with qualifying service, peacekeeping/peacemaking operations and hazardous service regardless of which arm of the defence service or conflict the veterans served in. This includes partners of current service personnel. Click here to apply for membership.

We also have Skype facilities as well as Facebook, email and mobile phone.
